Pre-School Programs

Our Preschool & Pre-K Program provides a nurturing, engaging learning environment that prepares children for a successful transition to kindergarten. Through purposeful play, hands-on learning experiences, and developmentally appropriate instruction, children build important skills in social-emotional development, language and literacy, math, cognitive development, and physical development.

Our Pre-K program follows a 180-day school year, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children have meaningful opportunities to ask questions, solve problems, build friendships, develop independence, and become confident, enthusiastic learners.

Qualifying families may be eligible to attend our Pre-K program at no cost through Maryland's publicly funded Pre-K programs.

Pre-School Programs

Our Pre-School programs focus on play-based learning, preparing children for kindergarten through engaging and interactive activities. We foster social, emotional, and cognitive development in a fun, supportive environment. Children are encouraged to explore, create, and learn at their own pace. Our experienced educators guide them through a curriculum designed to spark curiosity and a love for learning. Each child's unique interests and abilities are nurtured to ensure a strong foundation for future success.

Toddler Programs

Our Toddler Program, designed for children aged 2, provides a warm, nurturing environment where young children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them. Through hands-on experiences, purposeful play, music and movement, stories, and creative activities, toddlers build important skills while having fun and discovering new things.

We support each child's growing independence, language and communication skills, social-emotional development, physical development, and natural curiosity. Daily routines and developmentally appropriate learning experiences provide toddlers with opportunities to make choices, practice new skills, build relationships, and gain confidence as they grow.

Safe & Engaging Learning Environment

At Open Minds Early Learning Center, children learn best when they feel safe, comfortable, and free to explore. We thoughtfully arrange our learning environment with developmentally appropriate materials and inviting spaces that encourage creativity, curiosity, movement, and hands-on discovery.

Children have opportunities for both independent and group experiences through purposeful play, learning centers, outdoor activities, and open-ended materials. Our environment encourages children to make choices, use their imaginations, develop new skills, and learn through meaningful experiences throughout the day.

FamilyCommunication & Involvement

We believe families are an important part of each child's learning and development. At Open Minds Early Learning Center, we value strong family partnerships and encourage open, ongoing communication between home and school.

Families receive regular updates about their child's day, learning experiences, and developmental progress through Brightwheel, conferences, and personal communication. We also welcome family participation through special events, celebrations, and other opportunities to support their child's learning.

By working together, families and educators create a strong connection that supports each child's growth, development, and success.

Nutritious Meals and Snacks

At Open Minds Early Learning Center, we believe nutritious meals are essential to children's healthy growth and development. Children receive balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, featuring a variety of foods that encourage healthy eating habits.

Our menus are thoughtfully planned in accordance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and are designed to provide children with the nutrients they need to learn, play, and grow.

We work with families to address food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special dietary needs whenever possible. Mealtimes are also an opportunity for children to practice independence, engage in conversation, and develop positive attitudes toward healthy foods.
